Fei Xia Wa
(Eva Wollerup Fischer)

fei-xia-wa-white

Fei is a traditional Chinese last name.

Picture

Xia Wa is Chinese for Eva - my Christian name. It is actually a derivation from “Cha Wa” which is the pronunciation of Eva in Hebrew. This name came to China with the first Catholic missionaries.

Picture

“Xia” is Chinese for Summer while “Wa” is a young girl.

The name as such is unusual in a Chinese context. Its meaning and background adds  a Boheme and intellectual air to the name.
